A comparison of Royal Births

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellency of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

All eyes have been on the Royal Couple since the news broke of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s first child. The baby will be third in line to the throne as a great-grandchild to the Queen.
At St. Mary’s hospital, where the baby boy was due to be born, the media and photographers were canvassing in bushes, camera ready for a major shot of the Royals.
The excitement has been building up for the Royal birth. Its big news for the tabloids, from US Weekly, Yahoo news and E-online just to name a few..
Its’ s interesting to me to see the contrast between the Wales Royal line and the Royal Line of Jesus Christ.

Wales Royalty
1. People are interested and want see the birth.
2. Designer clothes for all the family
3. World expectant for the new royal baby
4. Kate arrived in a luxury car to hospital

Jesus Christ
1. Birth had to be in loneliness. (unsanitary manger )
2. Swaddling Clothes (strips of cloth not fit for a King)
3. King Herod wanted to kill Jesus
4. Mary traveled 70-80 miles on a Colt to give birth

Kate Middleton had a hairstylist, makeup person, and a designer dress that she wore when discharged to go home from the hospital. Yet we know that Mary didn’t have a place to give birth. She had traveled ….with Joseph looking for Posada (lodging) a place to rest and give birth. Yet there was no room at the Inn for them. She didn’t have all the comforts of Royalty. What mother doesn’t want the best for their child, especially their first child.
Yet we know that Jesus came not as King but as a humble servant. He came in humility and not to reign. “At least not right now.” What an admonition for us as believers to follow. His example, is our benchmark. Stay faithful the Lord is on His way for his royal family.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
