When a runner prepares for a 5K, 10k, a half marathon or full marathon. There are things that the runners have to prepare with, such as having a well nourished diet, staying hydrated, getting enough sleep and of course having the right shoes, just to name a few things. During the race, runners have to replenish their electrolytes to run with endurance. They have to be determined, self controlled, discipline to train well that they may come to the finish line and complete the race that they trained for.
The Apostle Paul reminds us of the following, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize”. 1 Corinthians 9:24
We are often so busy, that we many times don’t make the time to run our spiritual marathon race with excitement or anticipation of getting the prize (crown of Life).
We to like runners must Train, and must make that training a daily part of our life. No athlete can win a race by training only one day a week; it takes day after day of dedicated effort to be able to stay the course and finish the race. Training for believers should include daily prayer and Bible study, as well as worship and fellowship. It isn’t something we can do one day a week and think that we will be able to finish the race. These things could be considered our spiritual electrolytes.
And interestingly, we will find that these things apply to every area of our daily lives, as well. These are a wonderful blueprint for success in anything we do. God wants His children to live victoriously, now and forever! Sisters let’s Run the race so as to win the crown of victory, and enjoy all the benefits and blessings God has for us along the way to enjoy!
