Psalm 29:2 “Give honor to the Lord for the glory of his name.  Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.”

Psalm 95:6-7 “Come let us worship and bow down.  Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, for he is our God.  We are the people he watches over, the sheep under his care. Oh, that you would listen to his voice today!”

Worship is a sincere expression of reverence and devotion toward God.  Worship can take place through singing songs of praise, praying, and meditating upon God’s word.

Worship is realizing who we are worshiping, God the almighty.  To be in the Lord’s presence to where your mind, and spirit is focused on the heavenly places.  The words that we are singing become our prayers to the Lord.  It’s where you become in awe of who you’re worshiping and that desire to know God more, praising Him for all that He has done in your life.  Spending time in prayer and reading the word to get to know the One who created us.

When we come to worship are our hearts ready?  Are we laying aside all the distractions of our days?  Do we allow the Lord to speak to us, and draw us into His presence, whether it be singing, reading the word or praying?  God desires our hearts to be surrendered to Him. He is worthy of our praise and he watches over us and takes care of us.

I liked what Oswald Chambers said about worship.  Worship is giving God the best that He has given you.  Be careful what you do with the best you have.  Whenever you get a blessing from God, give it back to Him as a love-gift.  Take time to meditate before God and offer the blessing back to Him in a deliberate act of worship. God will never allow you to keep a spiritual blessing completely for yourself.  It must be given back to Him so that He can make it a blessing to others.
