What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him? Psalm 8:4
One of the things my husband and I enjoy doing is cruising around Norco talking and listening to music. We are such creatures of habit that we listen to the same CD over and over again. Each time we get into the car the same CD plays. The music is background filler as we talk and comment on what we see, but recently I started to listen to the lyrics. On one song the singer asks the question “Who am I that you are mindful of me?” So I started to mediate on these words.
I was in awe when I realized the God of Creation, the God of Mercy, the Sovereign God, the “I am,” The Alpha and Omega, the Righteous God is mindful of man, mindful of me. Psalm 139: 17 says “How precious also are your thoughts towards me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” It is amazing that his thoughts are limitless towards us. We are always on His mind … who am I that you are mindful of me?
